Dustfield

What it does

A 15-preset library for the free Decent Sampler, built from the DUST1 sample pack and RIST distressed piano sources. Each preset blends a Source layer against a tape-treated Memory layer, with dust, noise and hiss dials, damage dropouts, drift, width, reverb, a distance filter and an ADSR. Dustfield Fragments is a free four-preset cut of the same library.

In the demo

Jade opens with three presets layered in AUM under a Phase Chimes sequence, then installs the library into Decent Sampler on iPad and works the controls on the Soft Light preset. She plays every preset dry and loads Fragments alongside to show what the free version includes.

Worth knowing

Every control is exposed to the host for LFOs and automation. Decent Sampler’s window can sit off-centre in AUv3, a host quirk rather than the library. Anyone after clean, dry instruments is in the wrong place; this is atmosphere and decay.
