Drum Session

What it does

A drum app built on acoustic kits and a library Jade counts at over 3,000 named grooves, sorted by style. Grooves drag onto a timeline to build a song, and kits can be swapped while playback runs. A pad bank plays single kit pieces, and unlocking it exposes every sound across every kit. Any pattern opens in an editor for per note velocity, timing and grid changes, saved into user folders rather than over the factory loops.

In the demo

Jade plays the kits in from her electronic drum kit over MIDI, builds a three part metal pattern on the timeline, then edits one and saves it as a user preset. She exports the multitrack zip through AudioShare, drops the kick, snare, hi-hat and ride stems into GarageBand at matching tempo, and finishes by running it live into GarageBand over MIDI clock and Inter-App Audio.

Worth knowing

It is not an AUv3 plugin, so hosting runs through Inter-App Audio. The kits are acoustic throughout, with almost nothing electronic, so anyone after 808 territory is in the wrong app. Jade says the developer sent her the copy she uses.
