Drones & Atmospheres 2

What it does

A free, pay-what-you-want pack of 29 evolving drones and textures for AudioModern’s SoundBox sampler, the follow-up to the first Drones & Atmospheres volume. Sources are modular synths, warped field recordings and acoustic instruments processed through analog and digital gear, aimed at drone, ambient, lo-fi, neoclassical and experimental work.

In the demo

Jade opens with three instances layered over guitar strings in AUM, then imports the pack and plays all 29 sounds one after another, holding single notes so the movement shows. Along the way she adds attack and release, tries pitch bend, and sets one patch to legato with glide.

Worth knowing

These are long, slow textures that reward holding keys and moving octaves. Anyone wanting playable melodic instruments rather than beds and atmospheres will be looking at other SoundBox packs. SoundBox is free but needs an AudioModern pack to fully unlock.
