Drones & Atmospheres

What it does

A pay-what-you-want pack of 34 organic, evolving sounds and textures for AudioModern’s SoundBox, generated with modular synths, warped field recordings and acoustic instruments run through analog and digital gear. It is aimed at drone, ambient, lo-fi, neoclassical and experimental work, and at anyone needing a bed or an intro under something else.

In the demo

Jade opens with one of the drones in an AUM project, then imports the pack and plays through the whole set, usually holding a single key so the movement has time to show. The later patches turn darker, and she layers one against another sampler to thicken it.

Worth knowing

These are slow beds rather than playable instruments, so anyone wanting melodic patches will want a different SoundBox pack. SoundBox is free to download but only fully unlocks once you own a paid AudioModern pack, and the download here holds both FLAC and WAV versions.
