What it does
A distortion built around Eventide’s hardware algorithm, with octave voices layered under the drive rather than a single clipping stage. The presets move those octaves as well as the grit, which is why the same patch can read as saturation on one source and as a pitch effect on another. Like the rest of the iOS range it runs standalone or as an AUv3 and has not needed frequent updates.
In the demo
This is a spotlight rather than a walkthrough, so Jade runs one project with a piano, a Playbeat 4 drum pattern and a live vocal, and passes every Eventide app across all three. CrushStation gets the octave controls moved on piano, the instrument patches on drums, and a pushed vocal where the level holds without peaking.
Worth knowing
Jade points people to her separate full demo for the detail. Bass and keyboards are where she says it sits most comfortably.
