Cory Wong Producer Pack

What it does

A free Apple producer pack for Logic Pro and GarageBand assembled by the guitarist Cory Wong, aimed at funk. It holds more than 400 Apple Loops, three drum kits and a Live Loops grid, with rhythm guitars, bass grooves, drum parts, clavs, keys, tambourines and horn lines, written so parts from different sections can be mixed together.

In the demo

Jade installs it in Logic Pro on iPad, filters the instrument patches down to Cory Wong to hear the three kits, then filters the loop browser and builds a track from bass, drums, guitar and brass loops at 90 BPM. She shows the tempo import prompt snapping the project back to 120 BPM, pitches a loop, chops a clav part, and cuts a vocal over the top.

Worth knowing

Jade sticks to the loops and kits and skips the Live Loops grid, which another channel covered. Beyond the three kits there is little to play by hand, since the pack is built from loops rather than instruments.
