What it does
The second Cinepads volume for SoundBox, AudioModern’s free sampler, from Cinematic Alpha. Twenty five sound sources and twenty five patches built from granular woodwind and brass textures, aimed at film, advertising, games, meditation and live use. Patches carry their own effects and modulation, and layers can be muted or swapped for sounds from other packs.
In the demo
Jade imports the pack file from an external drive, then plays every patch from a keyboard, among them Ethereal Horizon, Obsidian Dream and Serenity Fields. She opens the modulation page to show the volumes swelling on their own, drops a piano from another pack into a free layer, and solos the individual layers of one patch.
Worth knowing
The uncompressed download expands to roughly 11 GB, and Jade keeps her SoundBox library on an external SSD because of it, at a little load time. Anyone after short articulated sounds will find these are long evolving pads.
