What it does

A cinematic sound pack for AudioModern’s SoundBox made from field recordings of boats docking on Lake Annecy, where the engines and braking gear threw off metallic groans and low resonant rumbles. Those recordings become 28 presets: four bass patches, ten pads and 14 sound effects. The pads run long and evolve, several of them heavily detuned, and SoundBox’s vector page can be switched on to keep the layers moving. The download is roughly 1.5 GB as WAV or 404 MB as FLAC.

In the demo

Jade works down the list from the basses through all ten pads to the effects, holding notes long enough for the tails to develop, and turns a vector on mid-preset to show how much the shape changes.

Worth knowing

It is the largest of the three Kompose packs in this episode and priced above the Fusions line. The material suits trailers, tension beds and dark underscore. Jade suggests running three instances split across a keyboard for effects, bass and pads at once, which is where the storage cost adds up.
