BIAS FX 2

What it does

A guitar and bass tone app chaining amps, cabinets and pedals into rigs kept in named banks. The download is free and the gear arrives in tiers sold as in-app purchases, standard, professional and elite, each adding presets and pedals. The pedal list covers noise gates, compressors, wahs, drives, fuzzes, EQs, modulation, delays, reverbs and an acoustic simulator. Pedals reorder by dragging, and one button splits a chain into dual stereo routing. ToneCloud adds a shared library of tones from other players, sortable by popularity and previewed in place. A tuner, a looper, a pedalboard and Guitar Match sit behind the paid unlock.

In the demo

Jade runs it as Inter-App Audio into GarageBand on a seven string. She compares metal presets across all four tiers, pulls tones out of ToneCloud, walks the pedal racks, and records a take without touching the levels. A later episode covers ToneCloud on its own.

Worth knowing

Inter-App Audio rather than AUv3. The pedalboard has no MIDI, so a physical footswitch cannot drive it. Presets do not transfer from Bias FX 1, a separate app, and Jade rebuilt hers by hand.
