What it does
Plays audio and video with tempo and pitch under separate control, so a passage slows to a quarter speed or shifts by semitones without the other following. Its own browser opens the desktop YouTube site and pulls a clip, or just its audio, into the app. Markers set loop points, and export writes audio or movie files.
In the demo
Jade shows three Siri Shortcuts failing to fetch a YouTube video, then does the same job from Beat Time’s browser in one tap. She slows a Mr Bungle piano cover to 25 percent to read the fingering, lifts it a few semitones, then routes the app through Audio Share into Koala Sampler and samples off a playing video.
Worth knowing
There is no AUv3, so audio leaves by export or by routing through a host. Jade raises copyright in passing, since what gets downloaded is on the user.
