What it does

A host that patches apps together on a grid rather than in a mixer strip. Inputs run down the left, outputs across the top, and a dot at an intersection makes the connection, so instruments, effects, generative MIDI apps and Inter-App Audio apps all sit in the same matrix. Three grids run alongside each other and connect together, each with its own master out and two post processing slots. A separate MIDI matrix routes the on screen keyboard, a hardware controller or a generative app to whichever instrument you choose, and dots double as level controls when dragged.

In the demo

Jade clears a project back to an init patch and builds up from there: a piano, a second piano, a drum machine, a generative sequencer driving the piano, a delay shared between two instruments, and an Inter-App Audio sampler. She then sends two buses out to AUM, which takes her several attempts on air.

Worth knowing

Live guitar input cannot be added directly, and Inter-App Audio apps sometimes have to be launched first. Jade puts it beside AUM rather than instead of it, and leaves the modulation and LFO side for later shows.
