ANALOGyKIT

What it does

An eight-voice drum synthesizer with no samples, standalone and AUv3 on iPhone, iPad and Mac. Each voice has two tunable oscillators, white and pink noise, a multimode filter, envelope, drive and lo-fi bit reduction, plus its own delay and gated reverb. A master mixer adds compression, limiting and clipping.

In the demo

Jade works in AUM with no sequencer, hitting Generate for random kits, then building a kick from the oscillators and a snare from noise and decay. She sets up a hi-hat choke, dials in per-drum delay and reverb gate, and remaps notes to General MIDI so a sequencer will trigger the kit.

Worth knowing

There is no built-in sequencer, and the default note layout runs up the white keys from note 24 rather than a GM map, so kits need remapping and saving before they line up with a host’s drum sequencer.
