AASamplePlayer

What it does

An AUv3 that plays one imported audio file across the keyboard. The controls are a load button, reverse, mono, and four knobs for trim, attack, sustain and pitch, with a double tap returning any knob to its default. There is no pad grid, no slicing and no preset browser. It reads whatever the Files app can reach, and the DSP cost stays low enough to stack many instances.

In the demo

Jade loads a single kick, then builds a kit in GarageBand by duplicating the track and pointing each instance at a different one-shot, quantising as she goes. She then loads a full guitar loop, holds a key for its length, reverses it, and hangs AUv3 effects on the individual tracks.

Worth knowing

It is the developer’s first app, aimed at people who find the GarageBand sampler awkward. Anyone wanting multisampling, pads or loop sync will need a fuller sampler.
