What it does
A single-window vocal chain built from five modules: dynamics with a one-knob compressor and de-esser, an EQ with selectable tone algorithms, a reverb, a tempo-synced delay, and an effects block holding chorus, phaser, an amp, a telephone filter and a pitch widener. Each module has an on-off toggle and a trim, and around a hundred presets are sorted by vocal type and genre.
In the demo
Jade strips every existing plug-in off a lead vocal and rebuilds it inside XVOX one module at a time, so each stage is audible on its own. She then runs presets over a second artist’s track and finishes by putting it on a bus across four vocal tracks in one of her own songs.
Worth knowing
The controls are deliberately simplified, so the compressor and EQ offer choices between voicings rather than full parameter access. Nuro Audio sells a Mac and PC version separately at $119. Anyone who wants to shape each stage in detail will still reach for individual processors.
