What it does
Caelum Audio’s yearly International Joke Day release, this one built on captured impulse responses of a toy microphone and its speaker. Input and output stages each get size, attack, decay and mix controls, with a quality knob that crushes the response further, plus a limiter and an overall mix. An LFO, a step sequencer and an envelope follower can be assigned to any dial through the ring around it.
In the demo
Jade opens it for the first time on camera with no manual, starts on the randomizer, then works through the mic and speaker halves and the modulation routing. She moves it off vocals onto piano, a no-input mixer drone and drums, using it mainly as a movement generator rather than a mic emulation.
Worth knowing
The name and the marketing copy are a joke, but the modulation section is not. Desktop builds are given away on the developer’s own site rather than through a store.
