What it does
A fixed vocal chain in one small window. A FET and an OPTO compressor work together from a single dynamics knob, with a de-esser ahead of them that shows what it is catching, and a drive knob whose character changes between vintage and modern modes. Two buttons add an air band and a lo-fi radio voicing, and past the input and output levels there is nothing else to set.
In the demo
Jade puts it on a clean vocal from one of her own songs, then on a heavy FMC vocal in front of EQ510 where it squashes hard. She copies the loaded plugin from track to track in Logic, moves it onto a bus, and finishes on a soft ballad take from Pete Johns.
Worth knowing
The compression is strong enough to pull breaths forward on quiet takes, so it suits gritty and aggressive vocals more than gentle acoustic ones. A desktop version is sold separately by the developer with a trial.
