SWAM Violin Section

What it does

A modelled violin section rather than a sampled one, holding up to six violins with divisi variations voiced apart from each other. Bowing and fingering split across two hands: bow position, bow pressure, bow lift, tremolo and pizzicato on one side, vibrato, harmonics, alternative fingering and legato sliding on the other. Everything takes MIDI learn, templates cover breath and wind controllers, and the Ambiente room simulator is built in.

In the demo

This is the section Jade sets up from scratch. She connects a Keystep and a volume pedal, MIDI learns the pedal to expression instead of volume, puts bow fizz and bow pressure on two knobs, then plays the same note with the pedal flat and with it moving. She switches the right hand play mode to bowing so the pedal drives the tremolo, sweeps bow position and pressure into scratchy territory, and places the violins in the Ambiente room.

Worth knowing

Each section is a separate purchase, with a String Sections bundle covering all four. Every app has to be opened standalone once and granted local network access before the OSC room sharing works.
