What it does

The piccolo in the SWAM flute family, physically modelled rather than sampled, sitting at the top of the range. The controls match the rest of the family: expression, velocity, vibrato, growl, flutter, breath noise and key noise, all of them MIDI learnable, with a timbre page of standard, bright and warm versions, transpose on the play surface, and a compressor, EQ and reverb section. It loads standalone or as an AUv3.

In the demo

Jade moves to it after the bass flute, plays up into the high register to show where the instrument tops out, then transposes from the play surface to push it higher again. She closes by stepping through the variations, and by driving all four flutes at once from MonoLeap through AUM.

Worth knowing

Sold on its own, with a Flutes bundle covering all four. The register is narrow and piercing, so it suits doubling a line or adding colour rather than carrying one on its own.
