SWAM Bass Flute

What it does

The lowest of the four SWAM flutes, physically modelled instead of sampled, with a deep and very airy register. It shares the family control set: expression, velocity, vibrato, growl, flutter, breath noise and key noise, each assignable to a knob, slider or pedal, a timbre page of brighter and warmer versions, an onscreen play surface, and a compressor, EQ and reverb section. Standalone or AUv3.

In the demo

Jade brings it in after the alto flute, trims the reverb she had been running because the low end muddies with it, and plays through the register with the expression pedal. She hits a stuck flutter and loses audio partway through, then hunts across the main screen for the panic button to clear it.

Worth knowing

Sold separately from the other flutes, with a Flutes bundle covering the set. The low register asks for a light touch on expression, and it will not cut through a busy arrangement the way the concert flute does.
