SampleScape

What it does

A sampler that morphs through a chain of steps instead of holding one sound. Each step takes a single sample or a multi-sample instrument and carries its own step time, fade into the next step, octave, pitch, output, filter and envelope, up to twelve steps in a chain, with a loop point so a held key keeps cycling. Steps play as straight samples or granular, and each has two LFOs that can be sent to pan, tremolo, vibrato or filter.

In the demo

Jade builds a chain from the init patch, setting step times and fades and watching the gradient across each block change with them, then turns on step glide so pitched steps slide into each other. She previews single steps instead of waiting for the chain, records a Pianoteq part in through the effect slot, and works the randomizer.

Worth knowing

Imports get their pitch detected, tuned and auto looped, and samples can be streamed from an external drive rather than copied onto the iPad.
