Pure Upright

What it does

A sampled upright piano built around a morph pad, where core timbres sit at points on a square and dragging the dot blends between them. Cinematic, detuned, bright, gated, vintage, intimate, pad and reverse are all on there, and a pencil tool moves any of them to a different position. EQ, reverb and delay follow the pad by default and can each be unlocked and set by hand, while a mechanics page adds key noise and pedal noise separately.

In the demo

Jade plays a piece built from two instances in AUM with Progressions driving the chords, then rearranges the pad nodes and morphs across them live. She sets the velocity curve, retunes and transposes the master, brings the key noise in and out, and finally puts it beside Pure Piano and Ravenscroft on the same part.

Worth knowing

Presets save only from the standalone app, not from the AUv3. Being an upright it sits brighter and shallower than a grand, which Jade aims at pop and rock parts and at lines that need to cut through a stack of other pianos. Minimum voice mode turns the liquid morph off.
