What it does
Splits one audio signal into up to four frequency bands, each on its own channel, so a different plugin can sit on each. Two modes cover the two kinds of host. Multi Output suits hosts with real multi-out routing such as AUM, where bands two to four are picked up as Multibus Audio Unit instances on separate channels. Linked Group covers GarageBand and Cubasis, which have no multi-out: the same part is copied across several tracks, each holding an instance set to one band number and a shared group. A plus button adds bands and handles drag the crossovers.
In the demo
Jade runs drums through it in AUM, drops band levels to hear each range alone, then puts a reverse effect, a reverb, a widener and a saturator on separate bands. In GarageBand she triples a smart strings take and splits it three ways.
Worth knowing
The Multi Output switch does nothing in a host without multi-out routing, which Jade calls a placebo there. Everything audible comes from whatever plugins follow it.
