What it does
A sampled Sheng, the Chinese mouth organ, and the one polyphonic instrument in this range, so it plays chords where the flutes alongside it are monophonic. The tone is reedy and sustained, closer to an accordion or a set of bagpipes than a flute. Controls stay the same as the rest of the family: volume, tone, reverb and pitch bend depth, plus a keyboard or wind instrument switch. It runs standalone or as an AUv3.
In the demo
Jade demonstrates the polyphony directly against a monophonic sibling, where the flute flutters between two notes and this one holds both. She used it for the chord bed in the track she built the night before, with the single note instruments playing lines over the top.
Worth knowing
It is the only one here that will voice a chord, so anyone buying a single instrument from the range for harmony wants this one. It opens on wind instrument input like the others. Sold on its own, or in the App Store bundle with all nine.
