What it does
A sampled HuLuSi, the Chinese gourd pipe, as its own standalone and AUv3 app. Three pipes rise out of a gourd body on the real instrument, and the sampled result is reedier and more nasal than the bamboo flutes in the range, closer to an oboe. It plays one note at a time. Volume, tone, reverb and pitch bend depth are the whole control set, with a toggle for keyboard or electronic wind instrument input.
In the demo
Jade reaches it partway through the run, compares it against the flutes either side of it and works up to its top note. She shows the instrument photo behind the panel, which is how each app in the range identifies itself.
Worth knowing
Every launch starts on wind instrument input, so keyboard players switch it over first, though a saved project remembers the choice. There is no vibrato or expression control. Sold on its own, or in the App Store bundle with the other eight.
