What it does

An emulation of the 1967 FET peak limiter, with input and output, the four original ratios and an all-buttons mode, plus makeup gain the hardware never had. The extras page adds a dry wet control for parallel compression, up to 8x oversampling, and switches for the analog colour and the hiss. Its own additions are the auto functions: auto trim, auto gain reduction and auto attack and release, which listen for a bar or two and set the controls, after which you switch them off and adjust by hand.

In the demo

Jade sets it manually on a drum loop in AUM, then uses the auto presets on an isolated kick and snare in Logic and on a demo vocal, comparing the auto settings against her own.

Worth knowing

Attack and release run backwards compared with most compressors, which trips people up. In Logic the window is too small to show both pages at once.
