What it does

A transient processor that adds material rather than cutting it. It follows the dynamics of the incoming sound and lays two generated layers over the hits: an oscillator with frequency, pitch drop, low cut and its own attack and release, and a noise layer with low cut, high cut, stereo width and its own envelope. A trigger section sets the frequency it listens at and the width of that window, with a floor and level deciding which hits qualify. Presets are grouped for kicks and snares.

In the demo

Jade splits a Hammerhead kit across separate tracks and treats each part on its own, putting a sub under a kick, fizz under claps and a ring on the toms, then does the same to an acoustic kit inside GarageBand. She also sends a live microphone and a piano through it.

Worth knowing

It is built for percussive material, so sustained sources come out closer to ring modulation than snap. Jade loads it in GarageBand as well as AUM, on iPad only.
