FAC Alteza

What it does

A reverb built around three all-pass filter stages, a feedback section and two pitch shifters, which together produce the shimmer it is known for. A blend knob moves it from shimmer toward harmonizer, where the shifters give thirds, fifths, sevenths and octaves. There is also altitude for room size, diffusion, dampening, filtering, modulation and a ducker driven through the multi-out.

In the demo

This is a return visit, and Jade spends it on the controls she had never touched, dropping all three stages to one for an ordinary reverb before stacking them back into the big sound. She shows the exact guitar chain she uses on the channel, then puts it on vocals, drums and pads, and sets up drum-triggered ducking.

Worth knowing

The Mac release is a separate purchase, not a universal one. It is a character reverb that colours everything, so a transparent room for corrective mixing is not what it is doing.
