Digitalism 2000

What it does

A sample-based synth module built from digital hardware synths of the early 2000s, number five in the limited edition LE series. Over 1,000 individually recorded samples and more than 60 multi-sampled PCM sound sources are arranged into 100 plus presets spanning pads, electric pianos, synths and bass. Two sources layer at a time, with detune, a phaser, panning and a filter envelope on a second page, while the main panel keeps volume, reverb, a limiter, a dice randomizer, save and MIDI learn. Settings reach MIDI output channels, buffer size, black or white keys, octave range, key labels, separate velocity curves for the on-screen and physical keyboards, assignable wheels, hold and panic. In the demo

Jade plays the whole preset list from the on-screen keyboard rather than her controller, lingering on the string and pad banks, and builds a patch of her own late in the show by picking two sources at random.

Worth knowing

It is a preset player rather than a synth you build from an oscillator up, and Jade describes the library as leaning spacey, with short stabby sounds she does not reach for.
