What it does
A drum synthesizer where each pad is its own small two oscillator voice. One shape morphs from sine to square, the other from sine to saw, and the two cross modulate in both directions through XM and FM amounts, with a static or dynamic modulation type. A noise section covers snares and hats, there are two envelopes with the second also shaping noise, and the output runs through a bit crusher, a distortion and brightness pair, and a filter that sweeps low pass to band pass to high pass with resonance and gain. Envelopes can modulate shape, pitch and cutoff.
In the demo
Jade sets pads one at a time while Octachron drives patterns, since editing always follows whichever pad was last triggered. She then rebuilds the setup in Logic and records the MIDI to a track.
Worth knowing
Presets save the whole kit rather than single pads, so building a kit means working pad by pad.
