What it does

A pad based sampler and small production app. Sixteen pads hold drum hits, loops or multisampled instruments, each with gain, pan, pitch, high and low pass filters, reverb, delay and an envelope. Patterns record onto the pads, then chain and trim in a song section, with a step editor and piano roll for notes. Two sound packs ship with it and the rest of the UVI library is bought inside the app.

In the demo

Jade records a quick drum and bass pattern, copies it into song mode, and drops the snare out of the second section. She then builds a pad palette of brass, strings, choirs and guitar loops, saves it as a project, and reloads that same project inside a GarageBand AUv3 instance to record parts.

Worth knowing

The bundled sounds are a starting point and the packs carry the range, so the real cost depends on how many you buy. Some downloads run to 220 MB.
