Aries Rotary Speaker & Amp

What it does

A rotary speaker simulator with a tube amp stage in front. Six cabinets and six amps can be mixed in any combination, and each cabinet models a horn and a drum rotor with their own gain, panning and rotation speed. A virtual mic moves for distance and angle, acceleration and deceleration are set separately so the ramp between tremolo and chorale can be tuned, and a post section adds EQ, reverb and a compressor. It runs standalone or as an AUv3 on any source.

In the demo

Jade puts it on a GSi Cantor organ in AUM, first muting the drum to isolate the horn and then the reverse, and sweeps the mic around the cabinet with headphones in mind. She runs all six cabinets in turn, then moves it onto a Wurlitzer style keys patch and a guitar.

Worth knowing

Amp control settings do not carry across when you switch amps until you touch a knob, which is easy to misread. Anyone wanting a single rotary knob rather than a cabinet and mic rig will find plenty here to ignore.
