Tincture

What it does

A touch-driven synth where notes are holes scattered across an animated field over a drone. Tapping a hole plucks it, dragging off it bows it, and holding a bow long enough pulls the other holes into a cluster that plays a self-generating, tempo-locked sequence until stopped. Underneath sit five string types, chorus, drive, filter, echo, shimmer reverb, three LFOs and a mod matrix. NOVA generates patches from a text prompt.

In the demo

Jade starts from a blank AUM session, builds a drone and plays the holes by hand, then shows the cluster sequence speeding up with finger position. She feeds it MIDI from an external keyboard and a note generator, tries NOVA with a prompt, and walks the effects and matrix.

Worth knowing

Jade’s iPad is an M2 and two instances pushed it, so the graphics cost CPU. The Mac side works through Link from the iPad rather than as a separate desktop product.
