What it does
A bit crusher paired with a multimode filter, drawn from the effect section of AudioThing’s Noises instrument. The crusher offers bit depth, downsampling up to fifty times, a harshness control taken from their Reels plugin and a wet mix. The filter runs low pass, high pass, band pass or notch at two or four pole with resonance, and can be placed after the crusher as a post filter. Every parameter is exposed for host automation.
In the demo
Jade runs it on Drum Computer and on vocals in AUM, driving downsample and cutoff from Rosetta’s LFOs, then repeats the modulation using Logic Pro’s own plugin parameter LFO. She also shows the dice randomiser with individual parameters locked so only part of the patch moves.
Worth knowing
It does one job, so anyone after a broader lo-fi chain with tape or vinyl artefacts will need something wider. A desktop version is sold separately on the AudioThing site.
