What it does
A drone synthesizer built from four self regulating oscillators that feed into each other through a routing matrix. Each oscillator has its own wave shape, gain, filter mode and modulation block, and an injection section adds AM, FM and a system error generator that breaks the signal into rhythms. Banks and presets are stored in the app, and a quantizer locks incoming notes to a chosen scale.
In the demo
Jade runs it in AUM, first playing a finished patch with several instances stacked, then clearing everything and building a sound from a single oscillator so each control is audible on its own. She routes oscillators into each other one at a time, then drives the pitch from a keyboard and from Euclidean sequencers.
Worth knowing
It never settles or repeats, so it suits drones, textures and score work rather than playing parts. The App Store listing is iPad only, and Jade points at Mac and Windows versions on the developer’s site.
