Textquencer Sequencer & Synth

What it does

A text based MIDI sequencer. Every letter is a step, read as a degree of the chosen scale, with the alphabet climbing an octave every eight letters, while spaces and punctuation come out as rests and capitals can be accented. Key and scale come from a long list, scales built in ScaleBud can be pulled in, and octave range, velocity and gate are set flat or randomized between limits. Custom character maps assign an emoji or keyboard symbol to a note or scale degree. Patterns sit side by side, each with its own rate, switchable over MIDI CC.

In the demo

Jade types short strings to show where the letters land, then pastes in a whole generated story and lets it sequence a piano. She stacks four instances on different letter ranges at different rates to build chords, and points the same text at a drum app, a chopped sampler and Loopmix.

Worth knowing

In the demo it makes no sound itself and routes MIDI out to other apps, and the store lists it today as Textquencer Sequencer & Synth. Some custom emoji maps did not fire on air, which Jade raised with the developer.
