What it does
A player for the sound library of VirSyn’s Tera Pro with the modular engine taken away. Each patch loads over a NASA photograph, and draggable stars sitting on the image handle cutoff, resonance, pitch, volume, envelope times and effects, which is the whole of the editing. Two banks load together in single, morph or stack mode and the mod wheel sweeps between them, while a dice button jumps to a random patch.
In the demo
Jade plays a piece she built from two instances in AUM, then opens the standalone so each star can be identified before she moves to the AUv3. She works through the AstroMorph and AstroStack presets written for the morphing, swaps second sounds in from the Tera legacy, experimental and Krell banks, and loads it in GarageBand.
Worth knowing
Patches cannot be rebuilt the way Tera Pro allows, so anyone wanting to design sounds from scratch wants that app instead. It is hungry, and Jade suggests recording and merging parts before stacking instances in GarageBand. The Mac version needs macOS 11 and an M1 chip.
