What it does
An AUv3 MIDI sequencer modelled on the Turing Machine, a eurorack module by Tom Whitwell. It runs a 16 bit shift register and shifts the bits along on every step, while a chaos knob sets the chance of the last bit flipping: fully one way the sequence locks to the step length, fully the other way it loops twice as long, and between the two it slips. A note mode sends notes in a chosen key and scale within octave and velocity limits, a CC mode sends control changes between set boundaries.
In the demo
Jade runs two instances into one SWAM cello, one sending notes in A minor and the other sending CC to bow pressure and then expression, and copies patterns into spare slots to flick between.
Worth knowing
It sends MIDI only, so it needs a host and a sound source, and its screen copies the hardware panel rather than dressing it up. Anyone wanting to write a fixed melody rather than steer a drifting one will be working against it.
