What it does
A component modelled emulation of the Vox Continental 301, the transistor combo organ heard on records by the Doors, the Animals and the Monkees. Sliders set the octave mix and an oscillator control shapes the tone, with a vibrato section for rate and depth, a pedal volume, and delay and reverb built in. Leakage and keyboard click controls dial in the noise of the original circuit. Settings cover global tuning, MIDI channels and top octave oscillator tuning.
In the demo
Jade opens with a track built from two instances of this and two of Compact Deluxe, then clears the project and walks the panel one control at a time. She ends with three instances in GarageBand playing a Light My Fire MIDI part.
Worth knowing
It models one organ, so no Hammond drawbars or rotary cabinet here. Genuine Soundware also sells it bundled with Compact Deluxe, and desktop versions for Mac and Windows.
