What it does
A generative MIDI sequencer built on a grid of notes. Tapping drops a stone and the expanding ripple plays whatever notes it crosses; holding places an emitter that keeps rippling at a chosen rate from eight bars down to eighths. Notes come from a dice generator or are painted in by hand within the chosen scale, and it sends MIDI to a host or hardware with a 16-voice synth built in for standalone use.
In the demo
Jade starts with three instances feeding SoundBox, Pianoteq and Backroom Piano in AUM, then walks through falloff, sustain, wall reflections and wave interference. She loads the AUv3 as a MIDI source, sets divisions and quantize, and layers several emitters at different rates over a piano.
Worth knowing
It makes no sound of its own inside a host, so it needs an instrument on the other end. Someone wanting fixed, repeatable patterns will find it drifts by design.
