Polywave

What it does

A wavetable synth whose oscillator is a row of waveforms played as a sequence. Each step holds its own wave, drawn by finger or Apple Pencil, picked from the factory library or randomised, and the row runs up to 16 steps forward, backward or back and forth at its own tempo and note division. A morph control smooths the joins between waves. There are FM, filter, detune and envelope controls, LFOs that attach to almost any parameter by tapping it, drawable automation lanes, and effects including a tube amp, vibrato and delay. The free download carries a few presets, with a paid unlock for the rest.

In the demo

Jade runs it standalone, drags the step count around while holding a chord, draws waves in and pastes one into another slot. She assigns LFOs to the FM amount, the tempo and the step count, draws automation for volume, panning and pitch, then loads it into AUM and plays through the factory leads, loops and pads.

Worth knowing

Opening one step to edit it silences the others until you back out, so steps are auditioned alone. Saved waveforms cannot be named, only duplicated.
