What it does
A generative ambient instrument built on the Mutable Instruments Rings resonator and Clouds granular engine. Sounds run from plucked strings to bells and organs, with a second voice layer, exciter choices, a granular buffer with moveable tape heads, shimmer reverb and a synced ping-pong delay. Play it on a ribbon with 23 scales and alternate tunings including Scala files, or switch on Auto for a Turing-machine sequencer with arp, probability and drift. Live visualizers respond to the audio.
In the demo
Jade runs four instances in AUM, then walks the play and studio views, loads a Scala file, tweaks the auto sequencer, drags the tape heads around, and exports a 4K performance video from the standalone.
Worth knowing
The free tier includes both engines, Auto, MIDI, AUv3 and five skins with no time limit. The unlock adds all visualizers, delay, sleep timer, presets and video export. Mac support is listed but untested in the demo.
