Ova Ambient Synthesizer

What it does

A wavetable synth played on a hexagonal field instead of a keyboard. Each touch places a node whose horizontal and vertical movement sets wave mode and detune while its position sets panning, and the field is locked to a chosen key, scale and octave range. Around that sit a filter with resonance, attack and release, a reverb, and modulation for level, panning, detune and wave. Balls can be dropped in to bounce around the field and trigger notes on their own, with controls for count, size, speed, chance and grid.

In the demo

Jade plays it by hand first, sweeping the resonance and moving several nodes at once, then adds balls and keeps playing over the top of them. She flicks individual balls to change their speed and direction, and drives the scale from BrainBud so the key shifts while the balls keep running.

Worth knowing

It has no MIDI out, so it will not sequence other apps. It can also get loud enough to produce artifacts, which is why Jade keeps a limiter after it.
