What it does
A minimalist standalone groovebox by the Drambo developers. Up to eight instruments, each a built-in rompler sound, sampler or hosted AUv3, with two AUv3 effects per track and two on the master. Notes are dragged from an on-screen keyboard into a free-form step grid and can stack into chords, ratchet, extend, or run to infinity until a rest note stops them. A performance page adds reverse, beat repeat, randomize, swing, gate, crusher and filters on recordable sliders.
In the demo
Jade builds a drum pattern by tapping, step-recording with the rest button and live recording, then adds a pad, chords, velocity and transpose. She loads Black Hole, Barricade and Strummer as AUv3s, exports audio and MIDI, then plays the performance sliders.
Worth knowing
It is not an AUv3 itself, notes go in from the on-screen keyboard only, and no playhead follows the pattern. Anyone wanting a deep groovebox is pointed to something like Dialect.
