What it does
A MIDI effect that quantizes whatever arrives at it to a chosen key and scale, and makes no sound of its own. The grid shows every note across nine octaves, and notes can be switched off one at a time, across all octaves at once, or a whole octave in one tap. Patterns hold different sets of enabled notes and swap on a MIDI CC. It accepts CC data as well as notes.
In the demo
Jade runs Zoa into it and out to Nerd Synth in AUM, changing the scale under a running part and pulling notes out as it plays. She maps her keyboard in AUM so each key toggles a note on the grid, then feeds it PolyBud’s CC lane and a hand-drawn LFO into PianoTeq.
Worth knowing
It only reshapes MIDI, so it needs a source in front and an instrument behind it. Anyone after note generation rather than filtering will want one of the generative apps she drives it with.
