What it does

A MIDI generator that makes no sound of its own. Columns for note, octave, duration, velocity, gate and ratchet each hold a percentage chance per value, so a part is a set of probabilities rather than a fixed sequence. Velocity, gate and ratchet group in tens by default and ungroup to every value for fine work. A built-in looper records 64 of the generated notes, which can then be edited one at a time, and patterns switch on a MIDI CC.

In the demo

Jade zeroes every column in AUM and brings them back one at a time into a piano, so each stage is audible on its own. She records a run into the looper, trims it to a two-note figure, keeps that as a second pattern, then adds a BrainBud instance so four copies share one key and scale.

Worth knowing

It sends notes only, so it needs an instrument behind it. Anyone who wants to draw a fixed line into a grid will find this works the other way round, shaping odds instead of steps.
