What it does

A sample-based synth built around morphing. Four sources, A to D, each hold an instrument, and a morph control blends between them: linearly, across an XY pad, between two of them, or not at all. Sources can be swapped for anything in the library, or for samples you import or record in the app. The play surface is a fretted, scale-snapped keyboard with adjustable width and height, sliding pitch bend and aftertouch, and it takes MPE. Behind it sit a filter, a modulation matrix with drawable LFO shapes, an arpeggiator, distortion, chorus, delay and a tunable reverb.

In the demo

Jade plays the surface with one hand while a hardware keyboard holds notes with the other, drops a flute and an organ into source slots, and drives a morph axis from an external LFO over MIDI CC. She then runs presets, each carrying its own scale and keyboard layout.

Worth knowing

The animated Blobby display can be turned off to save CPU; Jade left the standalone running overnight and lost a quarter of her battery. iPad and Mac only.
