MooMu

What it does

A modular synth for iPad where modules are laid out on rows and wired together with coloured patch cables. The browser covers oscillators, filters, envelopes, clocks, CV sequencers, drum samplers, effects and MIDI utilities, with a search box to find them. Cables and dials have separate locks, modules clone with or without their connections, and rows can be saved and reused as well as whole patches. Loaded as an AUv3 it inserts a MIDI to CV module for you, any knob can be pinned to a top bar that feeds host macros, and drum patches split across multibus outputs.

In the demo

Jade explains what modular synthesis is, then builds an oscillator, envelope, VCA and delay patch from an empty rack in AUM. She sets up multi outs on a drum preset, pins knobs to the top bar, and admits she loses the thread past a few modules, so she plays patches made earlier.
