Mariana Bass Synthesizer

What it does

A monophonic bass synth built from two synth engines. Each holds a pair of dual oscillators plus noise and a sub, its own filters, envelopes, three LFOs, two random generators, saturation, and either a delay or a chorus. An output stage mixes and pans the two engines and adds a compressor with an FET mode. Control voltage ports send modulation to and from Moog’s Moogerfooger apps.

In the demo

Jade runs the factory presets, then builds from the init patch, showing the wave shape control that moves both oscillators together, the noise colours and the sub’s independent shaper. She assigns LFOs through the modulation summary, patches a Moogerfooger phaser into the pitch, and ends on a Logic Pro project where the kick, snare and hats are all Mariana.

Worth knowing

Monophonic, so there are no chords without stacking instances, and the App Store listing is iPad only. Extra sound packs are in-app purchases on top of the app price. Moog’s own description also lists macOS and Windows versions, bought separately from this one.
