Kebarp

What it does

A MIDI arpeggiator that generates no sound. You draw a pattern onto a grid and whatever notes arrive from a keyboard or another app get arpeggiated through it. A scale locks every square, so notes outside it cannot be drawn, and the root comes from what you play rather than from a setting. Steps run up to 64 with a separate rate, alongside gate, velocity, swing and variety dials that randomize gate and velocity. Patterns live in slots, each with its own scale, steps, rate and octave range, switched by MIDI CC, by retrigger, or chained automatically while a note is held.

In the demo

Jade opens with four instances at different rates feeding separate instruments, then clears everything and builds one from scratch into Pianoteq. She adds Brain Bud to change the scale across every instance at once, and later feeds it from the Bleass arpeggiator.

Worth knowing

It needs something playing into it, so on its own it sits silent. Drawn as a straight line with one note held it works as a plain step sequencer, which is how Jade uses it for a bassline.
