What it does
KORG’s port of the 1990 Wavestation, a synth that plays sequences of waveforms rather than one held tone. A patch holds several parts, each stepping through its own list of waves with per-step levels, pitch and loop points, and many split the keyboard so a rhythm sits under a lead. Two pages of effects, a mixer, ADSR and filter controls sit behind that, and the app carries the original cartridges plus three user banks. The 2025 update added AUv3, eleven years on.
In the demo
Jade bought it for the AUv3 support and treats the episode as a first look, not a tutorial. She generates random drum and wave sequences, pulls a patch apart to hear one wave at a time, and plays the stock cartridges and the paid ones.
Worth knowing
User presets did not survive between the standalone app and the plugin, and earlier saves were lost. Seven extra cartridges are a $4.99 in-app purchase.
